It has been a wonderful two months of 2010 so far. Activities I started engaging in have started to bring about results and that is exciting. Probably the thing I'm most excited about right now is the personal development activities I have been doing for the past few months. Team Beachbody has really encouraged us to make this a habit. It involves listening to 15 minutes of good audio from speakers like Jim Rohn, Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy, Tony Robbins and more. We are barraged with so many negative messages these days about how we aren't good enough or can't do something. It is great to hear someone say you can do it, and show you ways to get your priorities straight.
The other aspect has been to read 10 pages a day of a great book. I already read the BEST book and my guide book, the Bible, and it has been incredible to begin to read these other books. Books like "The Slight Edge" Jeff Olsen, "Failing Forward" and "Today Matters" John Maxwell, "How to Win Friends and Influence People" Dale Carnegie, "Goals!" Brian Tracy.
I love these books and audio that make you think and evaluate your life and realize how much time you spend in pursuit of activities that don't matter. Books and audio that show you it is ok to be bold and make mistakes because that is how you grow. These things that explain success in life isn't like winning the lottery or having some complicated formula. It is the simple things done daily, ie consistently that bring about success. It is eating good food, less calories than you need, and moving your body that produces a healthy weight and energy. It is reading 10 pages a day and listening to audio so you get inspired to take on more in life. It is about spending time each day developing a relationship with God. It is about taking time to spend with family.
Easy to do and easy not to do at the same time.
Maybe this will encourage someone today.

Updates
Wow, it has been more than a month since I last blogged. My goal to have 365 days of working out in WOWY bit the dust two weeks into January. I came down with a nasty stomach virus that was going around and it wiped me out.
I'm back to the workouts again and participating in a Clean Eating Challenge. We basically eat from the top two tiers of Michi's ladder. Michi's ladder is just a list of foods of varying degrees of nutritional value. While low fat cheese, etc is in the top two tiers, I just cut it out. The only dairy I have is yogurt and that is low fat. I have also done something I have not really done in the past and that is cut out whole wheat. So no wraps, pitas or bread. I do get one cheat meal a week. It has been a good experience for me. I have dropped some weight and seen myself lean up a little more. More muscle definition is good!
Right now my daily meal plan is Shakeology with almond milk, ice, water, half banana, and tablespoon of natural peanut butter for breakfast, Yogurt with raisins, sliced almonds for snack, chicken or turkey of some kind with veggies and brown rice or quinoa. Afternoon snack is almonds or veggies with hummus or egg white omelet with salsa. Supper has been lean protein with veggies and sometimes brown rice or quinoa. I feel great! I'm really enjoying eating even more cleanly than I have in the past. I really see how I can use this to lean out more!
I'm in my third week of P90X workouts. Kinda halfway following the schedule. I really care least for the weight training workouts. I think it is because I'm faced with more of my weaknesses than strengths.

Excited for 2010!
The new year is upon me already, and I am really excited about the goals I have set for myself this year. One of the main ones is to log 365 days worth of WOWY workouts. That's Beachbody's online gym. I have had two Beachbody friends do this so far, so my goal is to do this as well. I'm also going to clean up my nutrition. I've definitely not eaten cleanly this holiday season, but also have let some things slide over the past few months.
Have a great 2010!
